Welcome to my little corner of the gay erotic romance universe . . . well, half of it, anyway. (You can find the other half at RachelHaimowitz.com.) This is the place to come for sneak previews of new projects, release information, and the occasional M/M book review. I'll also share thoughts on the industry on occasion, and I hope you'll come share yours in return.

Chat and Win with Author Rachel Brimble!

Morning folks! Today we have All Things Romantic Suspense author Rachel Brimble stopping by to chat, and she's giving away an autographed copy of her romantic comedy The Sharp Points of a Triangle to one lucky commenter!

But her latest release is Getting It Right this Time, and before I turn the floor over to Rachel, let's have a looksie at the cover and blurb.

She's back, but this time she’s a mother…intent on protecting her young.

Two years after her husband’s death, Kate Marshall returns home seeking security and stability for her three-year-old daughter. But when her path crosses with ‘the one who got away’…her husband’s best friend, she has to fight the desire to be with him for the sake of further heartbreak for her and her daughter.

A tough, straight talking theatrical agent, Mark Johnston is dangerously handsome, exceedingly rich, irresistibly charming – and branded by the tabloids as one of the UK’s most eligible bachelors. So even though Mark lost the girl of his dreams to his best friend, he finds no hardship in being single. Or so he thought.

Determined not to lose her a second time, Mark has to find a way to convince her they can work.  But can Kate cope with the media interest and ruthless, money-hungry clients surrounding him, being anywhere near her daughter?  Or accept that Mark Johnston is really the family man he claims to be?

And now to the interview, beneath the jump.

What’s the sexiest feature on a man to you? And on a woman? Why?

Great question! On a man? I have a ‘thing’ about men’s forearms and hands…it is one of the first things I check out when I’m attracted to someone. I LOVE strong, tanned, muscular forearms and nice hands. Luckily my husband has the best of both!

Who are your latest crushes (celebrity, book character, or otherwise)? Do you ever keep those people in your mind when writing your own works?

My celebrity crush is Matthew McConaughey and has been for years – I love his hair, his eyes, his smile, his body…yum! Also the fact that he keeps his private life private, and spends a lot of time running on the beach with his dog...it all adds to the attraction and mystery of one handsome man.

And yes, I keep him in mind when I’m writing – a lot!

What would constitute your own personal happily ever after?

A long lasting and happy marriage – I have been with my own lovely husband for eighteen years (married for 13) and we are still very happy which I never take for granted. Our secret? Lots of honest, open communication, laughter and making time for ourselves as a couple without the kids.

We sometimes leave the kids with my mum and dad on a Sunday afternoon and go for lunch and the cinema – plus every other month or so we will have a night away on our own, which I love!

Do you have a favorite character out of all the ones you’ve written? If so, who is it and why is s/he your favorite?

Ooh, that is so difficult, I love all my characters when I’m writing them! If I am forced to choose a favorite, I would say Hannah – my heroine from The Sharp Points of a Triangle. She is funny, loyal and has a huge heart. I’d love to be her friend.

Can I chose one more? Nicholas, the effeminate butler from my Victorian historical, The Arrival of Lily Curtis is one of my favorite creations too. Readers love him!

Speaking of online hangouts, where are yours? Where can your readers find you?

What’s your current book list and where can we buy them?

Searching For Sophie – The Wild Rose Press

Reluctant Witness – The Wild Rose Press

The Arrival of Lily Curtis – The Wild Rose Press

Transatlantic Loving – The Wild Rose Press

Getting It Right This Time – Lyrical Press

Rachel lives with her husband and two young daughters in a small town near Bath in the UK.  Having always believed there’s someone for everyone, Rachel started writing her own tales of love once her children were at school.  Since then, she’s had several books published with The Wild Rose Press, Eternal Press and Lyrical Press and has just recently signed with a US literary agent.  A member of the Romantic Novelists Association and Romance Writers of America, Rachel cannot imagine her life without romance or writing!

When she isn’t writing, you’ll find Rachel with her head in a book or walking the beautiful English countryside with her family.  And in the evening?  Well, a well-deserved glass of wine is never, ever refused…

  2. I definitely agree on the forearms and hands thing. It's my favorite part of a guy's body, too.
