Happy Friday, all! Alas, it's looking like a bit of a mess round these parts, as the eye of Hurricane Irene is forecast to, well, glare really hard right over my head. (Is anyone else surprised that, between the very rare northeast hurricane and the even rarer northeast earthquake, that nobody's yet found a way to blame God's wrath on teh gays or portend End Times? Doesn't that usually happen right about now?)
Anyway, long story short, the disaster folks are telling us to expect power outages for days and possibly even weeks. Since I don't have time to front-load my blog, I'm afraid it will go without updates for as long as I'm stuck without power/internet. An even more unfortunate side effect may be the delay of the Crescendo release by a couple weeks, since I'm supposed to be wrapping up edits in the next couple weeks and can't do that if my battery's dead. If it looks like the power situation is truly ominous, I'll try to get out of town, but where I live literally becomes an island when there's flooding and odds are good the roads will be closed for a while.
Don't worry about me, though--I'll be perfectly safe in my (sadly flood-prone) basement, reading my Kindle by candlelight as the storm blows by. Until . . . well, whenever! :-)
My god you still post the weirdest nekkid man pics- eeeew with the hair! :P
ReplyDeletePlease update as soon as you can!? I'm going to be worrying about you all week xxx
I gotta admit, I'm not seeing the weirdness in those photos. Would you like any naked man pics I post? :-p
ReplyDeleteI'll update as soon as I can, darlin.

Here's to weathering the storm in fine fettle!
ReplyDelete@Amara: You know I never mind sharing with you, darlin. And don't worry--I'll be fine.
ReplyDelete@Chris: Here here :) I'm off now to put all the furniture in the basement on blocks. Whee!
Not really... these men just aren't that pretty :P It's the strange hipbones on one of them and the hair and EEEEW.
ReplyDeletePlease come live in britain?
Yes dear :-p
ReplyDeleteLove the pics, makes for a very happy Vee-Vee. I'm not sure if we are going to have a big problem in Florida, last I heard we won't, but I'll be sending happy, safe, positive energy your way. BTW, my mother, aunt and grandmother are saying it ALL (the earthquakes, hurricanes, etc) is because "Jesus is soon to return." So I hear it all the time. But then again, they said that He was going to come back before I turned 17...I'm 27 now so. *shrug*
ReplyDeleteAlways glad to have a happy Vee-Vee ;D Storm's not hitting FL at all (it's already up in NC or thereabouts, I think), but the next one might. My grandparents are out in Fort Lauderdale and they have to deal with a lot of this kind of weather, the poor things.
ReplyDeleteI hope you keep safe! Storm doesn't seem like it's going to be hitting here too badly (famous last words), and hopefully things turn out okay for you.
ReplyDeleteSo far so good--a little rain, a little breeze, nothing serious. Late tonight into tomorrow afternoon will be the real mess.
ReplyDeleteI live in MD and I really lucked up... I still have power!! The rain has stopped and now it's windy. This has been a crazy week for us and I hope all will quiet down soon.
ReplyDeleteTo all the East Coast posters, I hope all is well for you and yours.
Tracey D
Glad to hear you made it through okay, Tracey. Weirdly, we had power, and then lost it. Just came back on about an hour ago. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
